Carl Carter Biography

carl_carterCarl Carter was born in Muskegon Heights, Mi. He was the seventh of eight children.

He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School where he was very active in basketball, football and track and field.

Two years after graduating high school he joined the US Army where he spent the next 8 years specializing in areas such as radio communications and generator mechanics. He spent 2 years in Bamberg, Germany and had a chance to visit other places such as Munich, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Spain.

After returning to the United States, he spend the next three years on active duty at Fort Lewis, WA where he received an honorable discharge. Carl stayed in the Seattle area for the next 14 years where he was a steel and postal worker. After a back injury as a steelworker, Carl put most of his time into developing his art style. Never receiving any formal art training, today Carl is a self published artist residing in his hometown of Muskegon where he markets and distributes his art. Some of his influences are Ernie Barnes, Michelangelo, Harold Sharp and Artur J. Sanders.
